光明网讯（记者刘家铭、宋雅娟、蔡琳）2月11日，由北京市人民政府新闻办公室、光明网、中国公共外交协会主办的《外国领导人登长城》系列微视频发布仪式在2022北京新闻中心举行。北京控股篮球俱乐部主教练、北京市荣誉市民斯蒂芬·马布里（Stephon Marbury）发来祝福视频。

马布里表示，作为世界文化遗产的长城是人类文明的象征之一，长城精神包含了一种普世的价值追求,它呼吁和平、友谊、团结、坚韧。传播这种长城精神对如今面对疫情挑战下的世界来说意义非凡。

我是马布里，北京控股篮球俱乐部的主教练，也是一名北京荣誉市民。

万里长城，是很多外国人对中国的最初印象。我还记得我第一次登上长城是在2010年，登长城的感觉很震撼，尤其是当我知道长城是可以在太空中被看到的建筑。那天爬太高，我甚至冻感冒了。

人们常说，长城代表了中华民族和中华文化自强不息的生命力。这也是为什么2012年被北京市政府授予长城友谊奖时，我深感荣幸，我知道这个奖项所传递的意义。

此外，作为世界文化遗产的长城也是人类文明的象征之一，长城精神包含了一种普世的价值追求,它呼吁和平、友谊、团结、坚韧。传播这种长城精神对如今面对疫情挑战下的世界来说意义非凡。

现在，2022北京冬奥会正在举行，我希望来自世界各地的朋友都能像我一样有机会了解长城、了解北京、了解中国文化。祝愿你们能在全球首个“双奥之城”展示最好的自己，共同见证全球冬季运动的新时代！

I’m Stephon Marbury, the head coach of the Beijing Royal Fighter Basketball Club, and I’m also the Honorary citizen of Beijing.

To many foreigners, the Great Wall is their first impression to China. I still remember my first time there, it was in the year of 2010. I felt amazed climbing the wall, along with knowing the wall can be seen from space. I received a plaque from climbing so high.

I’ve been told that the Great Wall represents the ever-burning flame of the Chinese nation and Chinese culture. That’s why I felt so honored to be awarded the Great Wall Friendship Award by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. I’m keenly aware of the meaning of the award.

Besides, as a world cultural heritage site, the Great Wall is also one of the symbols of human civilizations. The spirit of the Great Wall pursues a universal value of peace, friendship, and resilience, which is of great significance to the world facing the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the Beijing Winter Olympics going on, I hope athletes from all over the world can have a chance to experience the charm of the Great Wall, the city of Beijing, and Chinese culture as I did. I hope all of you can show the best of yourselves in the world’s first “Dual Olympic City” and witness the new era of global winter sports with me.

I’m very grateful to the 2022 Beijing Media Center for inviting me and for its every staff member’s hard work. You, just like the Great Wall, are the ambassador of the global cultural exchange. Best wishes to the launch ceremony of the Micro-video Series - Foreign Heads of States on the Great Wall!
